Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management
This qualification would apply to students with various job titles including managers, team leaders, project consultants, project coordinators, assistants and executive officers. Individuals in these roles may possess business skills and knowledge and wish to consolidate and build pathways to further opportunities. Conversely, it may also apply to those with little or no vocational experience, but who possess sound theoretical business skills and knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further educational and employment opportunities.
The programme covers a wide range of teaching units, including strategic planning, innovation management, leadership, change management, human resources, information management, finance and marketing. All teaching is delivered through online learning, including assessments (see pages 14 – 16 for further information).
Learning Objectives
Business & Digital Strategy
Students will gain the skills and knowledge required to:
- develop and implement a business plan (including analysis and description of business vision, mission statement, values, objectives, goals, competitors, financial targets, management arrangements, and marketing approaches).
- review and develop recommendations relating to the digital strategy of an organisation or department (covering the action fields of digital transformation).
Leadership
Students will gain the skills and knowledge required to:
- communicate the organisation’s objectives, assign accountabilities and resource teams according to company and work objectives.
- establish, monitor and evaluate corporate social responsibility
for an organisation or department.
- consult and communicate with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement a strategic plan.
- develop and implement a change management plan to lead and manage organisational change.
- analyse information needs, establish communication protocols and coordinate effective communication.
- lead the process for addressing complex workplace issues and to develop improvement plans.
Marketing & Innovation
Students will gain the skills and knowledge required to:
- identify and evaluate marketing opportunities by analysing market data.
- manage and promote innovation and continuous improvement for an organisation or department.
Potential Job Opportunities
Potential job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. At the completion of this qualification, individuals will be able to manage in a wide range of organisational and industry contexts. Some job titles may include: Manager, Business Manager, Marketing Manager, Office Manager, Project Manager, Project Officer, Programme Coordinator, Programme Consultant, Team Leader and Executive Officer.
